FDOH & Lee County to launch reservation system ahead of new COVID-19 vaccination site – NBC2 News

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Lee County will offer a COVID-19 vaccination site this week along with a reservation system set to launch Monday.

Any frontline healthcare workers and those 65 and older can make a reservation for an appointment during the scheduled dates and hours for the site. This COVID-19 vaccination site will only be open to people who make appointments.

Officials made the announcement Sunday in a news conference at the Lee County Emergency Operations Center. This comes after the first week of COVID-19 vaccine doses being administered in the county.


For the upcoming week, anyone considered a frontline healthcare worker or 65 and older can make a reservation using the toll-free number 1-833-618-2001 starting Monday at noon. Officials said you should wait until the line opens on Monday to call.

The call center will be open noon to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the remainder of the week until 5,000 appointments are filled.

Reservation dates and hours for this week include:

  1. Tuesday, January 5 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  2. Wednesday, January 6 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  3. Thursday, January 7 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The site is located in the North Parking Lot across from Old Terminal at RSW, 16000 Chamberlin Parkway. The site is east of I-75 off of Daniels Parkway and message boards will direct traffic to Paul J. Doherty Parkway.

More locations and dates will be announced later. Anyone receiving the vaccine is asked to show up no earlier than 45 minutes before your scheduled appointment. The county said no one will have to come earlier or wait overnight.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said they will be on site for security and to assist with traffic control.

To date, 6,140 Lee County residents have been vaccinated, according to Lee County officials.
